Skrifstofuskóli I / Office School I
The office school is intended for people in the labor market who are 18 years or older, have had short formal schooling, currently work or plan to work in an office. The purpose of the Office School is to increase the ability of participants to take on general office work and to promote their positive attitude towards continuing studies. The program emphasizes that participants learn to learn, and they strengthen their self-confidence and work skills. The learning is mainly based on practical subjects that are easy to transfer to general office work.
By the end of the program, participants have:

Assignments, 80% attendance and active participation.
Courses take place two afternoons a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:00 to 20:35 and every other Saturday from 09:00 - 12:35. A few extra days will be added.
There are no final exams, the emphasis is on assignments, practical exercises, group work, discussions, and debates instead of traditional exams. The program follows a curriculum approved by Fræðslumiðstöð atvinnulífsins (The Education and Training Service Centre).
Blended learning is taught partly via the internet. Lectures, assignments and material from instructors is accessible on the MSS learning management system.
