Professional course - continuation of Social and Health Care course and Icelandic class - Part I


Participants

The programme is aimed at those who work / or plan to work in social and health care and have a background and/or education that will be useful in their work.

 

Prerequisites

The program is for immigrants in Iceland who plan to work in social or health care and lack the skills in Icelandic for those jobs.

 

Goal of the course

The purpose of the programme is to make it easier for students to tackle tasks assigned to them, to strengthen their self-confidence and life skills and to promote a positive attitude and understanding of the profession or to promote further learning. The main methods of good care, whether in social or health care services, are taught, as well as creating the linguistic environment that belongs to the profession.

 

Study Locations

Taught at MSS and by collaborators who collaborate with MSS.


Teaching methods:

Great emphasis is placed on diverse teaching methods.


Assessment

Project work, field work and active participation.


Duration

Total 250 hours

It is possible to assess the programme to 10 credits at upper secondary level (vocational programme)

 

Dates

November 20 to December 14, 2023.

 

It will be taught according to the curriculum of the National Education Centre

 

The programme is supported by the Directorate of Labour.
