Empower your future in Iceland - Arabic women
This course is intended for women of Arabic origin, who have moved to Iceland and want to strengthen themselves in their new society.
Emphasis is placed on empowerment, knowledge of Icelandic society, work and education, digital and computer skills, building a network, a future vision in Iceland and more.
Who is the course for?
• Women aged 18 and older with Arabic as their native language
• Women living in Suðurnes who want to:
o learn more about rights and responsibilities in Iceland
o prepare for work or studies
o strengthen themselves in daily life and future
Participants:
• build self-confidence and empowerment in their new society
• gain a better understanding of Icelandic society, culture and systems
• know the main rights and responsibilities in daily life and in the labor market
• create a realistic plan for their next steps in work and/or studies
• strengthen their digital and computer skills for daily life, communication, job searching
• feel safe, supported, and connected within a women’s group
Teaching arrangement and schedule
• Classes are held 3 times a week
• Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
• From 9:00–12:00
The course takes place at 88 húsið - Hafnargata 88, 230 Reykjanesbær.
