Um námskeiðið

AI for Immigrants is a practical six-hour course where participants learn how to use artificial intelligence as a support tool in everyday life in Iceland. The course covers the basics of AI, how to ask clearer and more effective questions, how to adjust AI tools to receive more useful answers, and how to distinguish between reliable information and misleading or unclear responses.

Participants work with real-life examples such as understanding official information, preparing communication with public services, learning Icelandic vocabulary, translating and simplifying texts, preparing for job interviews, and finding trustworthy sources. Course materials and exercises are provided in both Icelandic and English, supporting language learning and better understanding of Icelandic society.

Special emphasis is placed on critical thinking, data privacy, and the safe use of AI. By the end of the course, participants will be able to use AI as a practical tool to navigate everyday situations, ask more precise questions, learn Icelandic in a meaningful way, and engage more confidently in Icelandic society.

The course is taught in English.
